How to Find Edge in Player Props Using Line Shopping

Player props are the softest market in sports betting. While moneylines and spreads are efficient across books, props often have massive discrepancies — and that's where the edge is.

Why Props Have More Edge

Sportsbooks dedicate their sharpest traders to main markets (moneyline, spread, totals). Player props get less attention, which means:

Lines vary significantly between books
Hold percentages are often higher (more vig to strip)
Books are slower to adjust to news and lineup changes

When one book has LeBron Over 25.5 points at -110 and another has it at -125, that's a meaningful difference in implied probability.

How StackDubs Props Work

Our props board pulls player prop odds from all 8 sportsbooks for every game. For each prop, we show:

Best odds: across all books (highlighted in green)
Fair value: calculated by devigging the consensus line
Hold %: how much total vig is in the market
EV%: whether a prop has positive expected value

You can filter by sport, player, prop type, and sort by hold or EV to find the best opportunities.

What to Look For

Low hold props (under 3%) indicate efficient markets where the best available odds are close to fair value. These are good for getting the sharpest price.

High EV props (above 3%) indicate one book is significantly off from the market. These are your best bets.

Line discrepancies: when books disagree on the line itself (one has O/U 24.5 while another has 25.5), there may be an arb or near-arb opportunity.

2. Sort by EV% to find the best value props
3. Check the hold — lower hold means a more efficient market
4. Click the best odds link to go directly to that sportsbook
5. Use the Kelly suggestion to size your bet
